Fix Democracy First Education Fund (FDFEF) is a 501(c)(3) organization that focuses on voter education, voter registration, outreach, and expanding civic participation across Washington state and beyond. We are dedicated to informing and educating the public about voting and democracy issues to increase civic engagement and participation, as well as decrease polarization. We offer ongoing civic programming and education, which includes our weekly Democracy Happy Hour, film screenings, book events, and panel discussions all free to the public. FDFEF also hosts our Women in Office Now (WON) program that offers free training and support for women interested or currently running for office. We are also currently in the process of developing a new pilot program with Generation Citizen for Project-Based Civics in Washington state.

Goals for Fix Democracy First Education Fund (FDFEF) board and committee structure/operations:

1. To ensure the FDFEF board of directors encompasses diversity in regards to age, race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, as well as geographic diversity, experience and representation;
2. To strengthen the board’s statewide presence so as to identify and coordinate voter engagement and organizing strategies and to build a sustainable organization; and
3. To clarify FDFEF’s committees and define roles, responsibility, leadership and committee operation.

Fix Democracy First (FDF) is a 501(c)(4) advocacy organization focused on achieving fair elections and government policies that reflect the will of the people, not the power of money. Our focus is on reforms intended to strengthen democracy in Washington State and nationally, that include campaign finance reform, public funding of elections, reversing Citizens United, ranked choice voting, proportional representation, voting rights and access, independent redistricting, and increasing civic participation overall. We advocate on these issues by promoting policies, testifying on behalf of our members and supporters, and through public events and workshops.

Goals for Fix Democracy First (FDF) board and committee structure/operations:

1. To expand the FDF board of directors to include constituent and geographic diversity, experience and representation of FDF and of allied organizations;
2. To strengthen the board’s statewide presence so as to identify and coordinate major policy issues and organizing strategies and to build membership and a sustainable organization; and
3. To clarify FDF’s committees and define roles, responsibility, leadership and committee operation.
