Grab a drink and come hear about the latest democracy news, ongoing efforts to fix democracy, and actions you can take at our weekly Democracy Happy Hour, Wednesdays @ 5 pm PT/8 pm ET. This is an online virtual event via Zoom.

Today's topic for September 24, 2025:

with John Bonifaz, Co-Founder & President of Free Speech for People

In the time since his second inauguration, Trump has carried out an assault on the rule of law, on the checks and balances of power between our co-equal branches of government, and on the United States Constitution. Donald Trump is disqualified from the presidency. And now he is committing multiple abuses of power in violation of clear constitutional commands and at the expense of our democratic institutions, constitutional precedent, and the health and safety of all of our people, especially the most vulnerable. Congress must take action. Learn more about the Impeach Trump. Again. campaign at today's program.

John Bonifaz is a constitutional attorney and the Co-Founder and President of Free Speech For People. Mr. Bonifaz previously served as the executive director and general counsel of the National Voting Rights Institute, an organization he founded in 1994, and as the legal director of Voter Action, a national election integrity organization. He has been at the forefront of key voting rights and democracy campaigns in the United States for more than three decades.
