Training for Civic Education Advocacy!
Tuesday, October 22nd @ 4 pm PT/7 pm ET
This training is catered to educators, but OPEN TO ALL!

Do you want to deepen relationships with decision-makers? Join us for the next Teachers Advancing Civic Learning (TACL) workshop on Tuesday, October 22, and explore ways to bring elected officials into your classroom or engage to advance civic learning and education in your community.

National Council for the Social Studies Past President Wesley Hedgepeth and Jen Patja of Virginia Civics will discuss how engaging decision makers can create unforgettable teachable moments for you, your students and community. From state legislators discussing effective letter-writing to county officials explaining local governance, this strategy offers students first-hand civic learning experiences, while providing decision makers insights on the importance of civic learning opportunities.

Fix Democracy First is a proud partner of the CivXNow Teachers Advancing Civic Learning (TACL) project, an effort to build an ongoing movement and advance policy within schools, districts, states, and nation. We especially encourage current and retired educators interested in being part of this peer community to join the TACL effort

This event is open to anyone interested in learning more about advocating for civic education on the local, state and/or national level.

Please support our work to strengthen and defend democracy.
We can't do it without you.
